i so want to take a nap right now. i’m so tired after work. didn’t get much sleep last night because of my snoring companion. ended up on the couch for half the night. couldn’t even use the futon because these fags haven’t put back the mattresses from these girls that spent the weekend living in the closets. i’ve had no time to write about anything. there is so much i wanted to say about the lunch i had with the boss. remind me and i’ll give you the highlights. getting back into gta. and, i’m so stoked because rockstar games has two new ones coming soon. one is called the warriors and the other is bully. it’s a game about this kid in juvi who goes nuts on other students and teachers. i can’t wait. so that’s all. got back into doing lsat stuff too. but tonight i’m so not in the mood for it. i just want to crawl in bed and pass out. this whole working out thing is all in vain anyways.
...
i’m having a really crappy day today. that whole make a wish foundation project that took hours for me to work on turned out to be a hoax chain letter. so i had to call 20 senators’ offices to tell them to disregard the letter. i know its not my fault but i feel like an idiot. plus it took hours to do this dumb project and i actually felt pretty good that i was helping this stupid make believe kid out. plus i’m sick of people calling me bracken. i understand that we are basically temps here and they have 12 interns a year, but it’s been like two months since we’ve worked here and he and i look nothing alike. i really view it as a lack of respect when you call people by the wrong name. i correct people depending on who it is. bracken gets it all the time too, but he doesn’t care too much about it. he doesn’t like acting like a high school cheerleader as he would say. It’s just getting to me today because i’m under a lot of pressure these days and having just a shatty day. took a practice test last night and my score is good enough to probably get into howard university, which might not be a bad thing. my score sucked and would barely be good enough for du. and i still have no backup plans. i keep entertaining the thought of working in this office but there is no way i could get hired here. it’s extremely competitive and there are very few spaces that open up. now i see why mikel is now waitressing on the side.

the high court
a fellow staffer took a look at my personal statement and basically tore it apart. not a single positive remark about a single word i wrote. why did i go to college? because i'm supposed to and i was smart enough to realize that. why law school? because everything else sucks. what sets me apart from other people? well i didn't climb mount kilimanjaro like you so i can't write about that. basically nothing though. i'm just like the rest of you. potomac waters are rough tonight. everything is. i have to waste my night taking natalie cook to pick up her boyfriend from dulles at 11. i'm thinking i won't go north for the weekend. i'm sure we can save the money and maybe i'll work on my letter and lsat crap. or not. law school isn't for everyone and starting to believe that i'm of of those everyone. i don't want to talk to anyone, email anyone, eat, work, etc. a good night's sleep would be good. we all have our problems but i want to be in matt's shoes.

casanova: heath ledger is gay. brokeback mountain: interesting cast. so, so, so strange sounding so i won't even mention the plot. possible. funny now that i've seen this trailer and the comment i wrote about casanova. the matador: retarded.
Walk the Line (2005): there's a lot to live up with this one. right off the bat are great kid actors. reese is the cutest thing in all of this here universe. the music and chemistry between these two are what make this movie. a few plot holes here and there. his parents aged pretty well for like a thirty year span. overall, the acting is impeccable. i think that's the first time i've used that word on here. impeccable. the theater's speakers started to wig out toward the end. it's nothing you'd want to watch over and over again unless you want to be reminded of how freaking lucky ryan phillipe is. see it.

i'm sitting in the supreme court (sc). i'm actually sitting, in the court room. we can't take pics so this will have to do. i also have blink 182 rocking out in my ipod. getting a lecture on the court because they aren't in session right now. it's pretty amazing though. what i learned: sc likes to take cases where there are split decisions between ct of appeals. 80/1000 cases were heard last year. november 30, 10:00 am is when the next case will be heard. no live stenographer. row of seats for sc bar members. there is a crank to lower and raise the lectern. white light - 25 minutes have passed. haha. fiddy's p.i.m.p. is on now. it's something else going down the marble steps of the sc building. makes me wonder so many things. could i ever walk down these one day after arguing a case? will i ever leave any courtroom after arguing a case? i don't feel like dealing with christmas gifts and cards and letters. at this point it's more of a hassle than anything. today we got off work at like 11:30. only 11 of 27 people even came to work today. 11/28 counting the boss. i've noticed black women are very loud. anyways, made the rounds with mail twice, had some french toast and talked with shawn, our new legal counsel, about law school and stuff that may never apply to me. you know, it would suck if bombs went off on this bridge, but at least i wouldn't have to deal with law school crap anymore. and if i live, then i'd finally have something unique to say in my personal statement. it's random to bring up, but every time i cross the potomac i think about the convo that the natalie's and i were talking about with how terrorists could cripple the government. they either don't seem to be that clever or another terrorist attack on u.s. soil is slightly more difficult than it used to be. let's hope the latter.

the other trees
mom will be here tomorrow. it's great, but this weekend will be so cold. and may have mentioned before, but it'll be none stop running around. finally talked to my girl for a long time on the phone. we hardly ever talk these days. this is the last week before heading to recess for a couple weeks. only downside is that it'll mean less hearings, mainly less senators to check off my list. right now i still have like 42 to get to. don't think that'll be happening. the lovely miss amber left today on her trek to taiwan i think. amber is my la over health and education. she's been on the hill for years and has known the boss since close to the beginning. a very lovely 35 year old single woman, who is pretty much the funniest woman in the office. can't understand why she is still single and i imagine she can't either. easily one of the top dressers.
did a section last night on the games, and granted it was harder than usual, but i only got less than half correct. very less than half. last night rain was dumping down on the way home. had to share my umbrella with mike, meaning i got soaked. glad to share though. today it's freezing out and will be a high of 49. good news i suppose for my boarding prospects. the M stinks like ass today. i'm sitting and there are peeps standing all around me, and stank is in the air. it's not pleasant. was really excited because i thought i had snapped a pic of pamela anderson, but in my pic her tribal/barbed wire gayness is on her right arm. every picture online has pam's on her left. slight disappointment.
alison starling, obviously a fake news caster name. and you can tell that her cute little button nose has been carved here and there. very good job though. abc 7 good morning washington. i didn't get anything yet for my mom's birthday (the 19th), but i figure this trip is my gift to her. not like i'm paying for anything, but without me she wouldn't be out here. that's a gift enough right?
i'm so used to this life. trains, suits, shoe horns and trees, x-ray machines, hearings, police, blackberries. this is my life, and i love it. except i don't have a blackberry. but i could.
in a massive committee room over in the hart building. the house just voted down the conference report to the labor hhs bill. this hearing is one of the better ones i've been to. they are actually going over a number of bills and deciding if they should continue onto the floor. a bunch of nominations. yesterday was my first markup hearing. sweet! boxer is going up against chairman stevens. and boxer killed him. it was about adding a new chemical to antifreeze to make it less toxic. it's still gonna go to the floor though.
...
someone said to me today, "forgive me, i'm polish." thought that was kind of funny. lot's of things come to mind when i hear that.
jennifer & james scarbrough, children of -> janet moore, daughter of -> fred & dortha moore, sister of -> dorene hert, mother of -> becky hert, mother of -> me
eighteen new voice messages. my bad. mom is on her way home now. we went to rohoboth beach, delaware on sunday and got to see the atlantic. went to the white house on saturday, arlington later that afternoon, and ate at lots of wonderful places. it's thanksgiving week now full of your favorite trimmings, like five o'clock days, business casual dress, an even less work ethic, and two much needed days off. still deciding what to do. it's pretty cold and wet these days, so snowboarding is definitely a possibility. phili and atlantic city are what i'd really like to do. who knows when i'd ever come back for the hard rocks there. and finally part of me just wants to stay home and chill all weekend. i actually wrote 'kill all weekend,' which is what i would really be doing. been playing metal of honor each night and i can't get enough of it. that also means i don't get enough lsat either. i can probably get another two exams done before the real one. that would be next week i believe.
i'm starting to think that the world of the legislative branch is much more exciting and possibly more interesting than law in general. can't say for sure since i've never been part of the law.
conversation of the week: "so are you going home for thanksgiving?" "no, i think i'm going to go to philadelphia or atlantic city for a few days. kim will be with her family in colorado." "oh man, i feel sooo sorry for you. you must be so sad." of course it's sad you retards. and you only make it worse when you say stupid shit like that. do you see me saying how sorry i feel for your crappy lives? please just don't open your mouth.

the statement
off to the potle. gonna read a ton of material i have on writing personal statements. think i might somehow do a snowboarding theme incorporated into my college years. sounds really gay but i think i can make it work. it will be very hard to get it good, but it's possible. may have to write a backup letter in case this turns out all wrong. turned off my cell. don't feel like talking to anyone for the next few days. people know how to email. gonna try something different today. usually switch between chicken soft tacos and chicken burrito.
ankle, first time -> mom, cu
every other week -> job, every semester
no sports, nothing, good though -> qwest
stott -> public defender, both degrees
wanted to go somewhere at qwest. wasn't my nitch.
ct for criminals. who was i to defend? so fascinated, went for double. why not?
ankle. and that would be a skier toppling over me.
end with...one more run. can't wait for the next season to begin.
running maybe?
constituent letters -> pub defend. medicare/aid cuts.
wife -> new challenges on slopes.
trumpet?
i want to go to your school.
tenacity: mrs. uribe
i have no idea. i hope it works. first, i sleep.
...
all of a sudden working out is no longer a priority. could just be because of the three day weekend. might head up to nyc for thanksgiving. if that doesn't work out i could just take an east coast hard rock tour. i'm also starting to drink more and more soda. gonna stop that right after i finish this coke.
...
i lost my pen somewhere in the white house visitors center. lost so many others, i'm surprised i haven't lost parker. jared has been in boston the past two nights and it has been so nice. finished, or wrote i should say, my personal statement. haven't read it though to see if it's good or not. started the snowboard one and totally nixed that idea. it was sucking bad.
i want the night and day contacts. i want contacts. age of empires III looks so amazing. i wish i liked those types of games though. so far, every one of those coca-cola refreshing film makers winner movies suck. cheaper by the dozen 2: never saw the first one. about time jim carrey is out with another movie. i'll see it. used to watch aeon flux on mtv and theron is hot. i'm down. spielberg can put out a movie about donkey crap and i'd see it. munich is no exception. i'll see king kong not because it's peter jackson, but because it's jb.
Jarhead (2005): i can only picture tom's dad. i love that guy. pretty funny. weak plot. i like the john malkovich looking character. jaime foxx is great. the narration totally outdoes the rest of the script. i'd like to know how accurate their behavior is. amazing cinematography. it should be nominated but it prolly won't. pretty decent music. but as far as o.p.p., i didn't know a single person who knew all the words to that song like the entire platoon did. i was impressed. worth buying i think because the makers really accomplished what they set out to do. makes me want to join the marines. not! also gives very good props to the great war classics.
...
just left an xbox 360 demo with the xbox chief. sounds expensive and the one game they showed was amazing, but wasn't anything to really show off the graphics. some race car game. looks like for the graphics to really be at their prime, you need an hd tv. only 250 old xbox games are compatible with the new console, and that's only after downloading some software to make them work. the massive two flat panel tv's they were using weren't working right and kept going in and out. i'm sure they'll sell a ton, but i'll stick with my pc.
